Feel free to steal this response to email list sellers
Hi █████,
Thank you for reaching out. I need to be clear that I cannot and will not participate in buying or acquiring contact lists like the ones you’re offering.
Practices like purchasing “verified net-new contacts” raise serious ethical, legal, and compliance concerns. In most jurisdictions (including under GDPR, CASL, and CCPA), marketing outreach requires provable consent from individuals. Lists of this nature typically lack that consent, which exposes companies to privacy violations, significant fines, and reputational damage.
Beyond compliance, unsolicited outreach erodes trust and undermines brand credibility. Our approach is to build relationships through consent-based, ethical methods that respect people’s privacy and autonomy.
For these reasons, I won’t be moving forward with your offer, and I’d ask that you remove me from future outreach regarding list sales, and especially from any such lists themselves.
Best regards,
Spencer
